Can a 10 minute workout be as beneficial as a 45 minute workout?

A recent CBC article has created a lot of buzz lately. According to the article, short 20 second bursts of intense exercise can as beneficial as a moderate 45 minute workout.

Bursts of exercise, when combined with a warm up and cool down period can improve your heart fitness by 20% over a 12 week period. It can also help with insulin sensitivity, reducing your chances of diabetes. These two results were similar to those who exercised moderately for 45 minutes.

So if you are one of those people who are too busy to exercise, sparing just ten minutes everyday can go a long way to help improve your overall health!
