Fruits and vegetables are sprayed with many pesticides to help preserve crops longer. “Apples tend to have the most pesticides because of the chemicals applied to the crop before and after harvest to preserve them longer. And the longer your produce sits unwashed, the deeper the chemicals are absorbed.”
So if your wondering what the best way to wash pesticides off your favourite apples?

This article suggests to soak them in baking soda water: “Dissolve one teaspoon of baking soda for every two cups (500 mL) of water. Soak the fruit for at least two minutes (the longer the better), and rinse with tap water before eating.”

Happy Apple Eating!
